Do you hate driving to KL every time you need to get something from IKEA? Don’t worry, IKEA will open its doors in Penang soon.
IKEA is a great place to get decend furnitures for your home. When I relocated back to Malaysia from China late last year, I found that IKEA is the most ideal place in the Klang Valley to get furnitures for my home. Of course they’re not the best but having this option does help make the process of settling down easier.

It was just reported on The Malay Mail today that IKEA will be built and opened in Penang soon. The development will take place at a 245 acres land in Batu Kawan. 30 acres will be specifically set aside for IKEA.
The folks over in Penang and other neighbouring states in the Northern Peninsula would really welcome this good news as in the future they no longer have to drive 4-6 hours South to visit the IKEA store in Kuala Lumpur. This will become IKEA’s second store in Malaysia.
Swedish meatballs lovers would be happy too, of course.
