If the rumours are true, highway toll prices in Malaysia will increase in 2014. These are the speculated new prices.
It’s inevitable that if you live in Kuala Lumpur, you will need a car to commute. Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas are well connected with expressways but unfortunately most of them are tolled.
One of my friends shared the following possible revised toll prices around the Klang Valley area.
LEBUHRAYA SUNGAI BESI BESRAYA RM1.30 to RM2.00 … +54%
LEBUHRAYA BARU PANTAI (NPE) RM1.60 TO RM2.00 … +25%
LEBUHRAYA DAMASARA/PUCHONG (LDP) RM1.60 TO RM2.10 … +31%
LEBUHRAYA BERTINGKAT AMPANG (AKLEH) RM1.50 TO RM2.50 … +67%
LEBUHRAYA KAJANG (SILK) RM1.00 TO RM1.30 … +30%
LEBUHRAYA KL-PUTRAJAYA (MEX) RM2.50 TO RM3.50 … +40%
LEBUHRAYA KAJANG-SEREMBAN (LEKAS) RMRM1.90 TO RM2.30 … +21%
LEBUHRAYA TRAFIK KL BARAT (SPRINT) RM1.50 TO RM2.50 … +67%
PANTAI RM1.50 TO RM2.50 … +67%
DAMASARA RM1.00 TO RM1.50 … +50%
KIARA RM2.00 TO RM3.00 … +33%
LEBUHRAYA LEMBAH KLANG SELATAN (SKVE) RM14.96c/KM TO 16.46c/KM … +10%
LEBUHRAYA KORIDOR GUTHRIE (GCE) RM1.40 TO RM1.90 … +36%
LEBUHRAYA SMART RM2.00 TO RM3.00 … +33%
The biggest increase are SPRINT, Pantai and AKLEH expressways.
One thing for sure, no one’s going to be happy with the price increase if this is true!
Meanwhile, ministers in Malaysia are urging people NOT to use the highways and use trunk roads instead if they are not happy with the increase of toll prices.
