The Ampang LRT Line Extension Project (LEP) has been completed and new stations in Puchong and Kinrara’s Awan Besar, Kampung Muhibbah, Alam Sutera and Bandar Kinrara 5 will operate soon.
Folks in Puchong and Kinrara areas can start enjoying reliable public transportation from end of this month as the Land and Public Transport Commission (SPAD) has authorised Prasarana to operate the Ampang LRT Line Extension stations.
There are 4 new stations on the extension project.
More than 400,000 people are expected to benefit from the LEP. That means folks living in Awan Besar, Kampung Muhibbah, Alam Sutera and Bandar Kinrara 5 can simply hop on the LRT to get to the city centre.
This is definitely a great news for people who are getting frustrated of having to commute into the city during rush hours.
People living in Bandar Kinrara 1 and Bandar Kinrara 9 and nearby Puncak Jalil can use the Alam Sutera station.
Meanwhile, the BK5 station is expected to serve residents living in Bandar Kinrara 2 to Bandar Kinrara 8, Taman Kinrara and Taman Bukit Kuchai. Taman OUG residents can use either the Awan Besar or Kampung Muhibbah station.
How much is the fare for these new LRT stops? The prices are expected to be announced soon and I will be updating this page as soon as the information becomes available.
Will this solve some of the traffic woes around these areas? Currently it’s hard to tell until it’s fully operational. One thing for sure is property prices near these stations will increase.
