I hate getting a missed call when you’re eagerly waiting for an important call. If you get a miss call from 03-80905016, it’s Astro.
Astro’s customer service centre may call you from this number for a number of reasons but mainly to annoy you. Well, if your account is de-activated for any unpaid bills (yes, I paid mine a bit late as I was travelling), they will call to remind you to pay for your bills.
Since I already paid the bills when I found out my account has been de-activated, I believe they called me just to let me know that my account status has been restored and I should be able to watch the programs on Astro by now.
It actually took them less than an hour to restore my account after I paid my Astro bill online via Maybank2u. After making the payment online, I sent the screenshot of the payment receipt to firstname.lastname@example.org. I received an SMS less than half an hour later and everything went back to normal.
Some people reported that Astro reps would also use this number to promote additional channels and would push you to upgrade your package. Given that the re-activation fees are RM20.00, I would just stick to my current package.
